So I’d thought I’ve give a try at hosting my blog on my own web site… considering I pay ~$70/month for it and I only host my gallery.. I’ll probably move some posts over from Livejournal once I get this thing setup the way I like it.. until then, you’ll have to deal with almost no content.. sorry.

Wisdom Teeth

So i was told I should write more.. so I’m gonna try.. Lets see.. what’s been happening in my life….

I got my wisdom teeth out about two weeks ago.. that was a fun time.. I had 4 wisdom teeth and one other tooth.. it was rather interesting.. I got good drugs for it though.. (i even have some left).. work has been going ok.. been working a little overtime which is good cause I need money cause my house aint cheap.. and I need more stuff for it (like curtains)..
well not too much else goin on.. just chilling at home watchin tv when i’m not workin..

oh.. I went to a cool fireworks show the sunday before labor day.. was an awesome show.. lasted 30 minutes.. and had very cool fireworks..

so I’m in a good mood tonight.. really good… for those that don’t know.. monday nights are steak night for me… and that means, i go to eat STEAK.. hehe.. at Texas Roadhouse .. and I bring a book and read.. but it’s fun cause a bunch of the waitresses know me and sit and talk.. so i don’t usually get much reading done before I get my food… which i don’t mind one bit.. it’s a fun time.. usually end up staying for like 2 hours..
i could never be a waiter.. i don’t have the type of personality it requires.. though I don’t think it requries a personality.. i’m just kinda shy and not outgoing.. i swear it must be pretty tough small talking 100s of people a day.. then again.. i guess some people thrive on that.. and it probably come easy to them… unlike small talk to me.. it’s tough.. and i can’t imagine how tough it must be to talk to me.. specially if you don’t know me… but then once you know me.. good luck gettin me to shuttup.. cause i just talk and talk.. even when i don’t have anything to talk about..

in other news.. work shall be interesting this week.. all but like 4 people will be gone half of wednesday and all day thursday.. and by that all i mean the people i go talk to when i need to brain dump cause i can’t brain dump online.. and cause my brain dumps are often random ..
gosh if i’ll ever finsih this… like i said.. i have A.D.D… ok.. i really don’t.. but i do know how to add

well i think I got the email server setup.. decided to go with smtp-auth for sending .. couldn’t quite get pop/imap before smtp working so I went with the auth.. plus it saves the trouble i’ve had of people complaining they can’t send mail.. but all they have to do is check it before they send it.
i’m debating moving mydns to the mysql machine… i really don’t see a need for a separate machine that just does dns.. but then again.. it provides another layer of “protection”

So yeh… I guess I learned the hard way that usermode linux doesn’t use ram, but just mmaps a file in /tmp the hard way.. so much faster once I made /tmp tmpfs instead of a mounted partition.. :-/

oh well.. guess ya learn the hard way
